Lifeline
VRI-Lifeline
The VRI-Lifeline Personal Response Service, designed to give peace of mind to those who live alone or spend long periods of time alone, is available through VRI for a monthly fee.
VRI-Lifeline works through the use of a telephone monitor, and a transmitter, which the subscriber wears on a necklace or wrist strap. If the subscriber should become ill or injured, he need only push the transmitter button, which, through the telephone monitor, notifies VRI that assistance may be needed.
Once an emergency notice is received, VRI will call the subscriber's home to confirm that help is needed and that the transmitter button was not pushed by mistake. If the need for help is confirmed, or if there is no answer, VRI will contact the "responders," or those persons designated by the subscriber to respond in case of an emergency. If VRI cannot reach the responders, an ambulance is called to respond.
